Vlogging and its affordances and disadvantages
Vlogging, short for "video blogging", is blogging through a video. A blog is any web page updated on a regular basis with discrete entries. For example Shaanxo is a vlogger who publishes videos of make up tutorials and hauls of her make up colection and favourite foundations for summer, winter and spring. So many people follow her vlogs that she has brought out xo beauty which is a collection of make up brushes, rings and false eyelashes, also lots more. She is now earning money through having popularity from her vlog. She also does vlogs with other vloggers such as Lauren Curtis and xLivLovesMakeup, who also vlog about make up. Shaanxo also does question and answer vloggs. Even though there are many affordances such as income there are also disadvantages such as many people cannot watch 20 minute videos as they may not have time, also for the vlogger it may be hard to keep constantly up to date and could potentially begin to take over your life. When Shaanxo Vloggs she is very general and talks in first person. She talks about her personal experiences and reccomendations also she talks about different styles of make up and colours they work well with. http://www.xobeautyshop.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/shaaanxo

language and technology
Alexander Graham Bell's notebook entry of 10 March 1876 describes his successful experiment with the telephone. Speaking through the instrument to his assistant, Thomas A. Watson, in the next room, Bell utters these famous first words, "Mr. Watson -- come here -- I want to see you."
This shows the creation of an eaiser way to keep in contact with friends, now that facebook and social networking has been incoperated with phones it is easier to keep in contact with everyone you assosiate with and eaisier to chat to new people. This can also be a bad thing as it can influence and fuel bullying and/or threatening or innapropriate behaviour.
Alot of issues can also be formed because it is easier to segregate people and easier to comment on things that are happening, tjhis can be extreamly upsettig for some people and in certain cases the people on the recieving end of the harrassment decide to end their lives.
Language has changed also there are now more abbreviations, such as 'lol' or 'lmao', technology has formed a new language and now this language is beinmg incorperated in to peoples speech and influences their idiolect daily.

r-Can i have a pen please?
e- Sorry yeah(.)
j-now which way?
e-turn your page horizontally
j-i hope its this way
e-yeah um(1)
and then(2) from the um from the right hand corner
j- the top or the bottom?
Just from this short extract I can see a small pattern emerging, the person describing takes long pauses and uses lots of fillers.I can also see that when describing there were things that were unclear as a question was asked. i also think the vocabulary used and the way things were explained were also dependant on the fact it was being recorded, this means that because of the recording it was adder to focus and therefore more fillers are used to cover the thought process.

God Among Us Commentary
In my Gods Among us piece my Genre was an artice and review, my Audience was prefferably males but females too who watch films and are up to date with the film industry. My Purpose was to entertain with the secondary purposes to perswade and argue.
In my piece i used a variety of techniques which the original artical had used, I used the metaphor "pushing the other competition of the bench", this is a metaphorical indirect allusion, it references Forrest Gump.In which Tom Hanks won best actor.I feel this is effective as a technique as it allows a relation from writer to audience on which is based on common knowlage ground. The metaphor used in the original piece however was used for a different purpose, "already a blazing star". This is used as a perswasive technique to imply greatness.
whilst writing this commentary I have released that i should have focused more on the techniques to borrow form my style model as when i have gone back and compared the two they have very little similarities, this is defiantly something i need to improve on to get a good grade. Most of the techniques i have used are ones i did naturally and this is why writing my momentary is very difficult.

Gods Among Us
Gods Among Us #8 :Hanks(over a large picture of Tom Hanks)
The boy next door appeal that captivated the nation and made Tom Hanks and his torso fly to fame.By Esme Rees
During an interview, Tom Hanks projected to his fan base that his greatest struggle whilst starting his career was being a solo parent and having to provide for his children whilst trying to make ends meet – This is compelling for two reasons. The first is that its almost un-imaginable that Tom Hanks was once a nobody trying to push his acting career and get the break he needed, like many of his fans Tom lead a relatively 'normal' life, if unchallenged, he would of not been capable to stretch and reach for the luxuries he has adjusted to now.
The second is truly abstract. International Tom Hanks day, I kid you not, from humble beginnings this day has grown to a phenomenon with 100% of the proceeds going to support Lifeline Energy: it happens on the 28th of March every year, the life player mp3, allows on demand educational access to vulnerable populations. The kind gesture, he is informed, is not always welcome. And in some cultures, dismissed. Truth is we will never be put into the situations these people are forced into at birth.'so, we can choose either to approach our fellow human beings with suspicion or to approach them with and open mind, a dash of optimism and a great deal of candour'. Tom won an oscar for best actor in Forrest Gump which he proved his excellence by taking on the role with absolute brilliance pushing the other competition off the bench.
In the 1980s Hank proved his comedic values in the cross dressing sitcom Bosom Buddies,Kip Wilson(Hanks) is officially skeptical of the plan to move into a woman's only affordable institute but soon after meeting a stunning fellow resident he ends up convincing an aspiring writer that it would be a intriguing plot to a book. I would list some of his best acting performances of all time however Hanks is an actor who rarely slips up and therefore this is easier said than done.Hanks has been excellent in every film he has acted in, possibly The Green Mile most of all and fellow actor De Niro has embarrassed himself in the last decade or so, other rival Al Pacino arguably out performs De Niro however in comparison to Hanks who has the ability to develop and adapt his acting skills suitably to each and every scene and context we see a clear winner.

Using Charlie Brooker's article as a style model

Unable to sleep at night? The skys the limit
I was trying to fall asleep the other night and then it hit me it was as easy as one, two, three
Esme Rees
The Guardian, Wednesday 30 January 2014 20.00 BST
I couldn't get the days events off my brain as I hit the pillow this evening,
I remember my Mum telling me to count sheep but at this point I was past the boring fluffy cloud like creatures and decided on something more adventurous. The only animal I could thing of was a dolphin, by the time I had decided this mediocre technique was about as useful as a bird with no wings, I had counted 58 dolphins. I tried listening to music, i swapped through 10 music stations. From Kiss 101 to Ujjima all the music was to upbeat and jumpy. I finally found a channel that was playing The book of love by Peter Gabriel, his angelic voice smashed against my eardrums allowing me the bliss of selective hearing to which i was finally able to relax.

Start of a Dramatic monologue with an unreliable narrator
Lilly looks up to the stars, gazing through the open window. She contemplates her deepest thoughts, she is sat slouching on the window ledge.
Its a cage, bars with gaps to narrow for me to seep through.
My life is out there not in here. I'm trapped.
They say 'unfortunately you'll have to stay in a few more weeks'.
They haven't found anything, i can tell.
The nurse make their snide comments as they walk away.
'She's an attention seeker' 'A liar!',
The doctors tell me its a 'figment of my imagination',
I know somethings wrong, it is, it is, it must be.
We class people as normal, but what is normality, who is normal, what is all the people considered normal, are all people with lots of similarities normal?, how do we class these people.
My mother and Father visit, on special occasion.
NONE of them believe my illness(tone of voice changes)
You see to me its simple, my mind tells me things, nasty things, i try so very hard to ignore them but they linger, and cloud my judgements and decisions.

How to write about yourself with examples:
How to write about yourself with examples:
Firstly forget your writing about
yourself let your creative juices flow, I found this difficult because I care a
lot about how people view me which made me cautious of what to write and how to
come across, and forget modesty.
Secondly what are your hobbies, for
example one of my biggest hobbies is going to the gym, and you could try and
add humour into your hobbies and include previous bad or good experiences, if I
try to be funny it will be terrible so I won’t enforce that upon you.
Thirdly you can talk about your
personality, pick three points on the positive and negative sides of your
persona, for example I am friendly and happy and smiley but can be very load (and
messy as I’m sure many teenagers are)
Next you can include what makes you
individual and different from everyone else, because everyone’s different at
the end of the day.
First or third person?
Example: third-
Esme is a helpful, friendly girl
who expresses herself through music; she goes to the gym to get rid of pressure
and anger and enjoys the fitness boost. She can be quiet and load dependant on
the mood she is in however she is a genuine person and would do anything for
anyone. Esme often enjoys horse riding but finds parting with her bed early in
the morning extremely difficult.
Example: first-
Im a creative person who likes to
make things, I learn visually and by doing things myself with pointers, when I started
my job I found it very hard because a lot of the information and important training
were based on the computer which didn’t suit my learning style, until I started
being practical I felt I knew hardly anything. Im often very adventurous and
like to visit new places and do new activities.
So looking at the given examples
you can see that whether you write in third or first person it doesn’t make a
huge difference, it all depends on what suits you better, its best you’re
comfortable and then it’s easier to express yourself with purpose and meaning.
Lastly go and try it out! Only you
will know if it feels right or not so have a go.

My Idiolect
My Idiolect consits of a mixture of words and phrases unique to me, which have been influenced by people around me and my enviorment.Despite being brought up in bristol my accent isnt that strong however lotsof fillers such as 'like' and 'um' have ended up persistant members of my vocabulary, I use these to elongate converdsations and allow thinking time.I occasionaly use the phrase 'do you know what i mean?', I believe I use this to check that the person i have been talkingto was paying attention and because im seeking a response it confirms the presence of their consious brain.
I also believe that social networking sites have a huge role in how our idiolect develops, such as slang that is often used over text and instant message crops up in what we say. The abreviation 'LOL' sometimes comes up when I talk, because its a very common abreviation often people use it as a word when they are talking.
My body language which is also part of my idiolect is once again a developed part of me and has been shaped by outter figures such as my family.I often use very open body language however sometimes especially when I am tired my body langauge changes to almost the opposite.
I use the word 'slider' which i thought was a real word however after looking into the word i have realised it is not an actual word and has been adapted by the harsh 'r' sond that is used by the bristolian accent.
